Celeste, Notting Hill
Celeste is the Estelle community’s Notting Hill townhouse – a “hosted home” on Ledbury Road that brings the group’s country-house and Mayfair DNA into west London. Set in the former Beach Blanket Babylon site, it’s conceived as a neighbourhood club rather than a grand palace: somewhere you can drop in frequently, feel looked after, and still have the sense of being in one of the area’s most coveted rooms.
Membership here plugs directly into the wider Estelle world, giving access to the Mayfair townhouse and Oxfordshire estate as well as this new W11 outpost. The underlying idea is consistent across all three: an “unstuffy” private club built around personalised service, discretion and a community of people who have “plenty to say and nothing to prove.”
What to expect
On the ground floor, expect a public-facing Italian-American restaurant with terrace seating, a wrap-around bar and an all-day feel – handmade pastas, crudos and thin-crust pizzas rather than formal, three-course dining only. Above that is where the members’ experience really comes into play: a first-floor bar inspired by Tokyo listening rooms, with wood panelling, plush seating, a serious vinyl collection and low, late-night lighting.
Further upstairs, there’s a members-only restaurant drawing on Japanese izakaya culture – grills from the robata, sushi made in front of you – and a top-floor “Apartment”, a self-contained space for intimate dinners, small celebrations or off-site meetings. As with the other Estelle properties, a programme of events (from parties and supper clubs to talks and cultural evenings) is a core part of the draw, designed to make it feel like a genuine community rather than just somewhere to eat and drink.
